After a brief introductory call, prospective clients typically participate in an initial meeting. This meeting can be conducted in the office, or by using Zoom.
Initial meetings typically have four basic goals:
1) Introductions & Backgrounds,
2) Review the Research Process
3) Discussion of Client Goals and Criteria
4) Overview of the Continuum of Care
After introductions, consultant backgrounds are briefly explored so that parents can understand the unique experience of the team at the SC Group.
We do not skip steps. At the SC Group gathering information is critical to meeting our goal of addressing "Goodness of Fit" for each student.
1) Parents are requested to participate in a thorough Social History. This meeting be conducted
in-person or using Zoom. Parents are also requested to complete our Social History
Questionnaire online, using the Best Notes Application.
2) Upon receiving ""Releases" for requested professionals and informed adults, consultants
reach out to gather their feedback and criteria;
3) Consultants review any essential documentation submitted by parents and professionals;
4) Consultant and Parents determine if a Student Interview would be a benefit at this point, or if
the interview should be conducted later in the process.
Consultants evaluate the information collected during this initial research process to identify appropriate course of action. At this point parents and consultants discuss the types of schools, programs or local support specialists that may be recommended.
Once the initial research process has been completed, your consultant will reach out to identified schools and programs to manage the approval process on your behalf.
No schools, programs or specialists are ever considered unless a consultant at the SC Group has personally visited and/or has a direct relationship. The team at the SC Group has been visiting schools and programs for over four decades and maintains a network of trusted resources.
The SC Group does NOT accept any financial compensation from schools, programs or professionals. The only compensation we accept comes from our clients. We work for you.
The SC Group works together with prospective schools and programs by sharing information deemed appropriate to the process. Unless specifically told otherwise, before a parent ever interviews a school or program, their child will have been conditionally approved.
The SC Group typically has access to identifying the ages, issues and additional specific information about the other participants that our students will be placed with. This information is considered crucial to our "Goodness of Fit" process. Your consultant will work with prospective schools and programs to match your child to a counselor or therapist with the specialized skills and training to support you and your family.
Lastly, your consultant will hand pick your point of contact in admissions, avoiding call centers and sales people to make sure you are able to conduct a thorough interview. Clients are given a list of interview questions to support them in interviewing prospective options.
Once you have made a decision, we will provide you with logistical information and support to move the process forward .
Once a student admits into a school or program, our team will monitor their progress and be available to connect. We stay with you.
If your child's situation changes, we will research additional options and continue to support you for the duration or the service term you've chosen.
